The Elite Syncopation quintet has been touring the United States from coast to coast for over a decade, performing their unique interpretations of ragtime and early jazz.

The concert will include original versions of Jelly Roll Morton's
fascinating tango-blues hybrid New Orleans Blues; Scott Joplin's
habanera Solace, John Rosamond Johnson's early merengue The Merango;
and Will Tyers's 1896 Trocha, the first tango published in the US.
The concert will also explore the influence of Latin music on ragtime
and early jazz, with performances of music by Sebastian Yradier,
James Reese Europe, and Irving Berlin.
